Sustainable Entertaining – Use What You Have

Impromptu can be fun but when you unexpectedly have friends coming over, a little preparation is always helpful. What to do if you’re entertaining on the fly? Simply use what you have. Most likely you are yet to shake the pandemic hoarding phase, being vigilant that your pantry and fridge is properly stocked. If you do a thorough scour, you’ll be sure to find something worthy to serve.

10 Hacks for Entertaining on the Fly:
  1. Make powdered lemonade and serve in a salvaged decanter.
  2. Tortillas and deli meats can create a fancy wrap, especially if you spear with a tooth pick.
  3. The same applies to cold cuts and cheese, simply roll pinwheel style for an attractive small bite.
  4. Elevate a salad with antipasto, olives and extra veggies.
  5. Hydrangeas are currently in full bloom and, before they wilt, add them to the table setting.
  6. Arrange flowers in recycled vessels, like NEST candle containers.
  7. Recycled yogurt jars are another attractive container to use for smaller flower cuttings.
  8. Serve fruit in attractive dishes.
  9. Adorn cakes or cookies in pastry wrappers.
  10. Bring flowers into your home’s vignettes for a polished look.
