You Can Eat Pizza Everyday with Variety

Hashtag blessed profiles omit the real family time. You won’t see the strife over agreeing on a program everyone can watch. Leaving the house at the same time. Finding common ground in the distribution of household chores. Though agreement can be found in two areas: pizza and the family dog (more on the family dog for another story). How can you serve pizza regularly without it being pulled from a cardboard box? We spent a month creating different versions that are simple, delicious, even healthy and all-natural to promote a happy home.

Recipe: Grilled Salad Pizza

While measurements and yields are helpful salad pizza is as easy as making, well, salad. Simply grill a pizza, toppings, and top with salad.

Pizza with a side of salad is so yesteryear, mix it together.

Prep time:

10 minutes

Cooking time:

8 – 12 minutes

Yields:

6 – 8

What you’ll need:

1 pizza crust

1 yellow pepper

1/4 cup tomato sauce

2 cups iceberg lettuce or arugula if you want to amp the artisanal quotient

Cherry tomatoes

Favorite Italian dressing

What to do:

Roll out pizza crust and place on a greased baking sheet.

Spoon tomato sauce evenly on crust

Top with shredded mozzarella

Coat your favorite vegetables lightly with olive oil and grill aside crust

Grill for 8-10 minutes, checking crust intermittently

Once complete, top with lettuce, tomatoes cucumber, olives, pepperoni and salad dressing.

Tips:
  • Salad pizza is not something you can easily heat up. If you intend to eat later, prepare the pizza and, once ready, heat and top with salad.
  • Freeze leftover pizza or crust if needed.
Everyday Pizza:

Your market supplies everything you need for a week’s worth of pizza varieties. There are assorted crusts available like Boboli, Pillsbury and raw pizza dough. Take an ethnic approach with pita or naan bread. Work meal time staples onto your pizza with Mexican, Tex-Mex, tapas, chili, Greek or salad bar toppings. Even bread basket basics like French bread and bagels can be the foundation to a simple pizza experience.
